A little daunting...catch-up on my journey so far

Fitbit One - replaced my Fitbit Ultra

So my latest journey started on the 24th July 2012, this was the day I received my Fitbit!  Now what is a Fitbit, it's pretty much a fancy pedometer, with bells and whistles.

This little device made me aware of how little I actually moved!  A healthy person is meant to take at least 10000 steps a day, I started off at about 3000 steps a day...I really wondered if I would ever get to 10K.  But it really did spur me on, I was running through the house to get my steps, the boys were getting involved too, following me as I made a dash from the front of the house to the back.  I started walking at lunchtime at work and started some incidental exercise but parking a bit further away from the shops and taking the stairs at work.

September 2012 - we were on holidays in Queensland and my step-mum had a treadmill, I fell in love!  Luckily my work bonus wasn't too far away and I purchased a Nordic T15, now I had no excuses, weather would not affect being able to move.

October 2012 - I signed up for my first round of Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation, pre-season saw me confront my excuses, and commit to this journey.  It set with up with the kick-start I needed.

Fast-forward to today - I've just finished my 3rd Round of 12WBT, and lost 40kg in total, starting weight 131kg - 24th July 2012, current weight 91kg - 31 July 2013.  It has not all been smooth sailing...there have been binges with that disgust at yourself after you do it, there has been towels thrown in, but most of all this has been life changing not only for myself but for my family.

I have decided that I am going to blog this round to help keep me accountable for the food I consume and for the exercise I perform.  I want to share my story with my family and friends, and show everyone that change is actually possible, even if you are adamant it isn't, it's just a lot of bloody hard work!
